Trivia: This was the first film to feature both John Hurt and Nigel Hawthorne. Both would later star together in two other animated features, The Plague Dogs (1982) (which was also based on a Richard Adams book), and The Black Cauldron (1985).

Goofs: Continuity: Bigwig disappears then reappears on screen as the rabbits enter the shed near the cemetery.
