Trivia: This film was originally entitled "Patton: Salute to a Rebel" and pre-release promotional material carried that title. The title was changed just prior to general release.

Goofs: Factual errors: When the British troops parade into Messina, a sign in Italian can be seen on the wall saying "Benvenutti amici a Messina", with a spelling error (it should read "Benvenuti"). However possible, it is highly unlikely that such an error would be made by native speakers.
